WidoSAT FAQ
WidoSAT utilizes satellite technology to access the Internet by the imbalance between small data sent to access the Internet and the large amount returned. This would be one-way satellite service. WidoSAT couples an inexpensive outbound method (Dial-UP Access) with a satellite download solution, this provides high speed downloads for an individual computer. This allows costs to be kept to a minimum while providing high speed Internet service.
Two-way vs One-way
With two-way service, you may completely lose your Internet access due to inclement weather. With WidoSAT, if this happens, you can use your configured land Internet access as a back-up. You may switch back and forth between land and satellite access within 30 seconds.
Using WidoSAT high speed Internet Access, you can use virtually all protocols, but because of latency, you may choose to run through conventional Internet access. With a two-way system, this would not be possible.
Using a two-way satellite system you may find some protocols are not supported. Since you do not have conventional Internet access with two-way systems, you may not be able to use certain applications.
Most of the two-way service providers require a two to three year contract which requires a substantial penalty if terminated early. WidoSAT Satellite works on a 12 month basis with a small penalty for termination with-in the first 12 months of service. Month to month terms are available with Full Setup fee.

Will Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing work?
- Yes it will, But only under WindowsXP. Also Widomaker will not support this type of setup. So if you need help, you will have to contact Microsoft.
System Requirements
- Either of the following IBM-compatible PCs (or a later model): Celeron 366 MHz or Pentium II 300 MHz, with modem installed.
- Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP operating system
- 128 MB minimum of system memory
- 10 MB of disk storage for application program and driver
- 33.6 or 56K Working Modem
- 10 MB minimum for data cache
- 2D graphics card (3D graphics recommended)
- Satellite dish and satellite service Internet service
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (web browser) version 5.0 or later installed
- Microsoft Windows Media Player Version 6.4 or later
- Microsoft DirectX 7 or later.
- For best results, a screen resolution of 800 X 600 pixels with 16 bit color resolution or higher is recommended for viewing B2C2 board applications.
