This problem was effecting all Widomaker dialup users. This outage was due to a failure in Cox Fibernet's telephone network. At this time we are not sure if the problem was related to last night's storms throughout the region. At 8:30 AM the problem was isolated to a specific equipment rack and repairs started. At 9:54 AM EDT, the problem was corrected and Widomaker users were able to login as normal. We were told a total of 55,000 telephone customers were effected throughout the region. Please accept our appologies for this outage. Both your equipment and our equipment was working perfectly, but the telephone network was unable to deliver your calls to us. Two other quick notes: Many of you have been asking about our Wireless DSL service. We will be doing a limited rollout of the business services in Mclaws Circle starting in approximately two weeks. We have to redesign a roof mount for the antenna before we proceed. We expect to start rolling on the residential side sometime in June. We will keep you posted on our progress. The support desk has asked me to remind you to keep your virus scanner programs updated and to please use them frequently. We have been seeing an increase in numbers of users whose computers are catching virii. In order to help with this, we have installed a link to a free virus scanner on our webpage. While this scanner will not protect you from catching a virus, it does provide a quick, easy way to check to see if you currently have one. Just go to http://www.widomaker.com and look at the very top of the page. Once again, please accept our appologies for this morning's trouble. The problem was in the telephone network, not your computer. As always, please let me know your comments, questions, or concerns. Ben Loyall President Widomaker Communication Services, Inc.
