We received the following notice from our satellite service partner:
As you are aware, we made a change which increased bandwidth on the AMC-6 satellite this morning. Unfortunately, we have been experiencing extreme fluctuations in signal since making this change. Due to the nature of this procedure, there was no method to test this change before it was made. We have been unable to stabilize the signal and have decided to revert back to the previous settings until we can understand the underlying causes of this problem. Please instruct your users to reset their transponder settings back to the original numbers (i.e. "Transponder" should be set to 12100 and "Symbol Rate" should be set to 13022). Follow the previous directions and exchange the new settings for the old ones...
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Check Widomaker's home page, system news page, this page, or the SatNow end user page for any updates or additional changes.
Remember, if you loose satellite connectivity, you can connect using standard dialup for Internet access or to retrieve updated information until the problem is fixed or the necessary settings changes are made. If you need instructions for connecting via standard dialup, please call our office (757-253-7621).
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Widomaker's
Technical Support office by telephone (757-253-7621) or e-mail.
Important Notice!!!!
All Satellite Internet Service users pointed at the AMC-6 satellite will need to make a couple of changes to their satellite software settings. These changes are required in order to maintain compatibility with a bandwidth increase that we are implementing on the morning of September 1st, 2004 between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
