On March 13, 2006, at approximately 10 am, Widomaker will be switching
its inbound modem pools to new equipment. While we are doing our
best to ensure that this is a seamless transition, there is always a
possibility of not being able to connect during the switch over.
This will effect dialup users from both the 757 and 804 area codes.
DSL users will not be effected by this transition.
The equipment we are switching to is newer and should provide a
more robust modem connection. However, since this involves us
switching to a different brand of equipment, it is possible that some
users may experience connection difficulties with their particular
equipment. Rest assured that our tech support staff
will be standing by to assist with any tweaking that needs to occur.
In the upcoming weeks we will also be performing major reworks to our
mail systems and user account servers. I will announce more
specifics on these upgrades as the time draws closer. The goals of
these upgrades will be to improve our SPAM rejection and give you,
our user, better tools for how you want your e-mail handled.
